Into the Wild

Materials

• A wooden board, thick cork tile, or heavyweight kraft paper as the base (A3 minimum)
• Fabric scraps in greens and browns (op shop offcuts and fabric store remnants are perfect)
• Wool and yarn in jungle tones, plus thicker chunky yarns and ribbons
• Paper offcuts, patterned papers, and pre-cut paper shapes
• Cupcake liners, especially the foil green and brown ones
• Paint swatches from the hardware store, cut into circles with Fiskars circle hole punches (a stack of sizes is brilliant)
• Cork, ripped and broken into chunks
• Wooden letters, wooden discs, or leftover wooden beads
• Paint sticks for adding marks straight onto the collage
• Glue stick for paper, PVA for the heavier bits like cork and wood
• Scissors
• A few Henri Rousseau prints, or his jungle paintings on a tablet, as a light reference
